As most organisations continue to use an increasing number of high-tech devices, the current drawn can fluctuate and cause a variety of problems. Quite often harmonic currents travel on the outer edge of electrical conductors, causing a build-up of heat to occur.
At the same time, there can
be surges or spikes in the system, causing circuit breakers to trip and
power usage to increase. Likewise, there can be premature failure of motors,
transformers and other electrical components.
Our detailed test procedures are usually carried out for a minimum of one working week to ensure that your installation is working at optimum capacity.
During this period we will provide a comprehensive survey - including an evaluation of the voltage, current flow, power factor, power consumption and harmonics - which is designed to help you identify the source of any electrical problems.
Once we have analysed the test
results, our specialist advisors will recommend the best solution for
your facility. Remedial action may include the use of custom-designed
harmonic filters or revisions to the design of your electrical system.
